Selfie check
What this does: it confirms a real person was at the camera when the check ran. It doesn't confirm who you are. That's what the ID verified level is for.
- Your camera turns on and we ask you to turn your head, for example left, then right.
- Software on your device checks there's exactly one face and that it moved as asked.
- No photos or video are uploaded or stored. We keep only the result (pass or fail), a rough score, the method and the time.
Privacy notice (please read)
Why we ask: to keep fake and bulk accounts out, so employers can trust that applicants are real people.
Sensitive information: your face is biometric information, which is sensitive information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We only do this check with your express consent, given separately below.
Where it happens: on your device, using Google's open-source MediaPipe Face Landmarker. Camera frames never leave your device. The software and model are downloaded from public CDNs (jsDelivr and Google Cloud Storage); like any download, those servers see your IP address, but they receive no camera data.
What we keep: your level, the method (mediapipe_head_turn_v1), when it ran, pass or fail, and a rough score between 0 and 1. Nothing else from the camera.
Who sees it: employers see only your badge (for example "Basic verified"). Never the score breakdown or anything from the camera.
Your choice: it's optional, but without it you can't reach Basic verified. You can delete the result at any time with the button below, which removes the badge. Questions or complaints: contact H1R3 via Human Home; you can also contact the OAIC (oaic.gov.au).

ID verified paid
